An impressive career can conceal many a sad story beneath. Lolo jones, the winner of USA and World the hurdle championships, achieved this status after many years of hard work and incredible perseverance. Jones, who was born into a single mother with five children in poverty and hardship when she was a kid, endured an incredibly difficult childhood. Her mother was always on the move, and had even lived in a basement church for a duration. This nomadic life forced Jones to attend an entirely new school each year up until her first day of the high school. Jones was kept apart from her family at Theodore Roosevelt to pursue track and field events. She lived with four different families during her time at high school, in order to learn in one place.
